MIPS Participation Look-up Tool Implemented by Quality Payment Program (QPP)

On April 25, 2017 CMS announced the distribution of Merit Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) participation status letters beginning in late April through May. Subsequently, CMS has also developed a MIPS participation look-up tool (https://qpp.cms.gov/learn/eligibility) based on each National Provider Identifier (NPI) number. Use this website if your group has not yet received its MIPS participation status letter.

ICD-10-CM 2018 updates available now for use beginning Oct. 1, 2017

On June 28, 2017, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced the release of the 2018 updates to the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, 10th revision (ICD-10). The full list of updated codes can be access via the CDC website (https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/icd/icd10cm.htm#icd2017 ). CDC also reports that 2018 General Equivalence Mappings (GEMs) will be posted on the same website in August 2017 and the 2018 ICD-10-CM guidelines will be published later.

While official print versions may not be published until September, subscribers can access these files to review the potential impact of 326 new codes, and 226 revised codes effective for dates of service on or after Oct. 1, 2017.
